Preparations in Full Swing
In anticipation of the Rajasthan assembly elections, the Congress party took significant steps on Wednesday. The party announced the formation of several committees to streamline its campaign efforts. Sukhjinder Randhawa was appointed the convener of the core committee, and C P Joshi was named the chairperson of the manifesto panel.

Key Appointments
As part of this strategic move, Congress leader and minister Govind Ram Meghwal was assigned the role of chairperson for the campaign committee. Former minister Harish Choudhary was entrusted with leading the strategic committee, as indicated in an official party statement. It’s noteworthy that Joshi currently holds the position of Speaker in the state assembly, while Randhawa serves as the AICC in-charge for party affairs in Rajasthan.
Expanding the Team
In addition to the crucial 10-member core committee, which boasts prominent figures like Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his former deputy Sachin Pilot, and PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra, the Congress introduced a 26-member coordination committee.
Official Confirmation
The party made this announcement official with the approval of the Congress president. The formation of these diverse committees aims to address various aspects of the forthcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan, as stated in the party’s press release.
Diverse Roles
Within the core committee, you’ll find the likes of former Union minister Jitendra Singh, Harish Chaudhary, Mahendra Jeet Malviya, Mohan Prakash, C P Joshi, and Govind Ram Meghwal. Additionally, Women and Child Welfare Minister Mamta Bhupesh was appointed as the chairperson of the media and communications committee. Swarnim Chaturvedi will co-chair this committee, while Mukesh Bhakar will serve as the convenor.
Roles and Responsibilities
The publicity and publications committee will be under the leadership of Murari Lal Meena, with Arjun Bamaniya as co-chairperson and Sudarshan Singh Rawat as the convenor. The protocol committee, on the other hand, will be chaired by Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya, co-chaired by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Tikaram Julie.
