Furthermore, the combination of G20 restrictions and the highly anticipated release of Shahrukh Khan’s movie, “Jawaan,” has created the perfect storm, enticing residents to explore entertainment, shopping, and relaxation outside the confines of the traffic-bound national capital.

Relief from Public Gathering Limits in Delhi

With Delhi under tight restrictions on public gatherings during the G20 Summit, residents of Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram are actively seeking alternative ways to spend their weekend. This shift in consumer behaviour has presented a golden opportunity for shopping malls and retail outlets in the National Capital Region (NCR) this weekend.

Optimism Among Noida and Greater Noida Mall Operators

Mall operators in Noida and Greater Noida are particularly optimistic about the expected increase in foot traffic this weekend. Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad have now transformed into bustling hubs of entertainment and retail therapy. As one operator put it, “This weekend promises unparalleled shopping, leisure, and cinematic delight—an unmissable opportunity for everyone in the NCR!”

New Delhi District Designated as Controlled Zone-I for G20 Summit

In light of the upcoming G20 Summit, New Delhi District will be categorized as “Controlled Zone-I” from 5 am on September 8 to 23:59 hours on September 10, according to an official notification.

Furthermore, the entire area within the Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) will be designated as a “Regulated Zone” during the same time frame, commencing at 5 am on September 8 and concluding at 23:59 hours on September 10.

During this period, only bonafide residents, authorized vehicles, emergency vehicles, and vehicles carrying passengers bound for the Airport, Old Delhi, and New Delhi Railway Stations will be permitted to travel within New Delhi District, as outlined in the notification.

It’s important to note that no TSR (three-wheeler scooter rickshaws) and taxis will be allowed to enter or operate within the boundaries of New Delhi District from 5 am on September 9 until 23:59 hours on September 10.
