Google has introduced a range of fresh features to its AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE), designed to enhance the way users absorb and understand online content. These updates are especially geared towards aiding the comprehension of complex concepts, boosting coding skills, and facilitating the exploration of challenging subjects.
In a recent blog post, the US-based tech giant expressed its enthusiasm for the positive reception of its generative AI-powered Search experience (SGE), launched less than three months ago. Continuous efforts to enhance the experience include the incorporation of additional graphics and videos in overviews, changes in the presentation of connections, and more.
Irrespective of whether users encounter unfamiliar phrases or seek explanations on new topics, Google’s AI-generated answers are set to receive updates spanning various subjects such as science, economics, history, and more. This forthcoming update will enable users to hover over specific words, obtaining instant previews of their definitions and accompanying diagrams or illustrations.
The Google Search app for Chrome now features a test function for summarizing lengthy articles. Additionally, it offers an “Explore on page” section that extracts questions and answers from the text. A “key points” feature has also been introduced, highlighting essential insights from webpages, simplifying the understanding of crucial information.
Google’s innovative “SGE while browsing” feature aims to encourage deeper engagement with long-form content. This functionality offers concise summaries of publicly accessible online publications, excluding paywalled content.
The new AI feature is currently available on Chrome for both iOS and Android devices, with plans to extend its availability to desktop users in the near future. Google is also actively enhancing AI-generated responses, enabling users to preview definitions, diagrams, and associated images by simply hovering over words.
