The Unconventional Bail Terms

Justice RMT Teekaa Raman, in a surprising move, decreed that the accused students must undertake certain unconventional tasks as part of their bail conditions. These conditions include:

1. Literary Endeavors:

  • Writing Notes from Mahatma Gandhi’s Autobiography: Each student is required to transcribe meaningful notes from Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography, “My Story of Experiments With the Truth.” Specifically, they must compose four pages from this influential work.
  • Reflecting on Kamaraj’s Schemes: The students are tasked with compiling comprehensive notes on the educational schemes introduced by former Chief Minister K Kamaraj.
  • Embracing Dreams and Visions: Additionally, the students must write about the dreams and visions of the esteemed former President, APJ Abdul Kalam.

2. Classroom Cleanliness:

  • Maintaining Hygiene: The court further mandated that the students clean not less than four classrooms each, ensuring that they are spotless. This cleaning responsibility extends to the blackboards, tables, benches, and floors. They are required to maintain this cleanliness for an entire week.

3. Library Time:

  • Intellectual Pursuits: To encourage educational growth, the students are directed to spend time in the school library. Here, they should prepare notes on the principles derived from Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography, continuing their engagement with “My Story of Experiments With the Truth.”

4. Online Responsibility:

  • Sharing Knowledge: Finally, the students are instructed to submit the notes they have written to the school principal. The principal will take on the responsibility of hosting these notes on the school’s website for a period of one year, with a strict mandate against copy-pasting any content.
