On February 14, 2024, the UPSC CSE Notification 2024 will be made public, kicking off the application process. Applications must be submitted by March 5, 2024, for consideration.The date of the UPSC CSE Mains 2024 is September 20, 2024. The UPSC 2024 Interview and Final Results dates, however, have not yet been made public.
UPSC Exam 2024: Qualifications
Candidates who want to take the UPSC Exam in 2024 must meet certain qualifying requirements. They must be citizens of India and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Candidates who are in their last year of graduation may also apply provisionally, but they must submit documentation proving they have earned their degrees by the deadline.
Number of Attempts and Age Limit
- General Category candidates are allowed six attempts.
- OBC category candidates can make nine attempts.
- SC/ST category candidates face no restrictions on the number of attempts.
- The age limit is 21 to 32 years as of August 1 in the examination year, with age relaxations for candidates in reserved categories.

Exam 2024 for UPSC: How to Pass
Candidates must successfully complete Prelims, Mains, and Interview in order to be considered for these highly sought-after positions. The patterns for the Prelims and Mains papers have already been discussed. The personal interview evaluates applicants’ personalities, interpersonal abilities, leadership potential, and general suitability. It is worth 275 marks overall. The overall score in the Mains Paper and the Personal Interview, with the Prelims serving as a backup, determine the final selection.

- The UPSC Prelims 2024 consists of two objective papers:
